In the recent picture, below, Kandie (Prisbrey) and I are the last two in the distance on this hike with the Young Women as part of our Senior Couples Mission. These fabulous girls earned beads toward their Young Women’s Medallion, and we are also helping with the coming Girl’s Camp. We climbed high to Makino point (near Kumamoto, Japan). Near the ancient Shinto Shrine in the background, we could almost imagine viewing the Wasatch Front in the distance. Next Saturday we are climbing to the top of (somewhat) nearby Kinpozan peak with our Young Single Adult (YSA) group. But because the temperatures are presently in the low 100’s, and the humidity in the low 70’s, we have reserved the old-folks’ (Obasan) right to go only part way.
Our district’s group of six missionaries (including us) presently has about 40 investigators, mostly connected with the fast-paced Young Single Adult Outreach Center that we supervise each day. For example, we will have another dance this Friday evening after we teach our Temple Marriage Preparation (Institute) class. Our class also includes some of our investigators—why wait? And there will be additional continuing and new investigators attending the dance. I’m glad Kandie can patiently help me recall dance steps, and also teaches them to our fascinated, nervous, and eager YSA.
We always renew the invitation to everyone to join with us by going (again) on similar proselyting missions as Senior Couples. To be particular about Japan, we need you now, especially if you’re a Japan RM. Because of the success of these YSA Outreach Centers, we are opening several more in our Japan, Fukuoka, Mission. You might communicate with our mission president, President Iwaasa, and he will send letters up the chain asking (begging) for you.
Regards and Love, Elder and Sister Prisbrey
