The last preparations are being made for Amakusa, and Kandie is in the middle of them as shown in the attached picture. We will be going to one of the vacation paradises of Japan, we are told. The accommodations will be traditional old-Japanese style—partly coeducational showers—there is a curtain between the men and women’s half of the large shower room, but the dressings rooms are exposed to each other. And then we finish together in the large bathtubs (called onsen’s, not ofuro’s, here), but our YSA leaders said they were going to divert the natural flow of people from that traditionally designed for. We also have the traditional shared bathroom facilities including lack of western-style toilets. After understanding these descriptions better, Kandie said ‘yipe’. She also said that this will probably be like Girl’s camp—not completely comfortable, but full of fun, fantastic blessings, and spiritual experiences. Also, we have loaded up on sunscreen because we will spend time at the beach on straights between Japan and Korea. Love, Dad
